Sakinaka is a loud and crowded place, and we are right in the thick of it at Gala No 70 in Sainathwadi. We are part of the Gulshan Society, located just off the Andheri Ghatkopar Link Road. If you’ve ever been on that road, you know the traffic is a nightmare most of the time. But we like it here. It’s an engineering workshop, so it’s full of the smell of grease, metal shavings, and the sound of drills. We don't have a lobby or a receptionist. If you want to talk to us, you have to walk past the machines and find someone who isn't wearing earplugs. The 'Gala' is a bit dark, but we have plenty of work lights over the benches. We take on all sorts of repair and fabrication jobs. It’s messy work and our clothes are always stained with oil. Sometimes we have to work late into the night to finish a part for a customer who needs it by morning. The humid Mumbai weather makes the workshop feel like a sauna sometimes, so we keep the big fans going constantly. We aren't a big firm with fancy brochures. We are just a group of guys who know how to handle tools and fix things. L T Nagar is a busy area, and we are just happy to have our spot in the middle of it all. It’s a tough environment but it’s where we do our best work day in and day out.
