Ruma Tailors

Ruma Tailors is located in Borivali West, at Plot No 2/20 in the Indranani Chs. If you are looking for us, we are right near St Rock School, which is a good way to find the building. It’s a quiet residential area for the most part, but our shop stays pretty busy. We have a few sewing machines that run for most of the day, making that rhythmic clicking sound. It’s a small shop, so things can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of fabric rolls sitting around. We handle all sorts of stitching work, from simple repairs to more complicated outfits. Sometimes a customer comes in with a specific idea and we have to figure out how to make it work. It involves a lot of measuring and chalking out patterns on the cloth. We don't have a computer to design anything; it’s all done by hand and eye. The light in the shop isn't always the best, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We know most of the families in the Chs and the kids from the school often pass by our window. It’s a friendly atmosphere, though we do get a bit behind schedule during the wedding season. We just try to keep up with the pile of clothes on the table. It’s simple work that requires a lot of patience and steady hands.
