Ripples Jeans

Our shop, Ripples Jeans, is right across from the Malad West railway station. We are in Shop No. 1 at the D. N. Trade Center on Anand Road in Ismail Baug. Being so close to the station means there’s always people rushing past. It’s a very lively spot. We sell jeans mostly. The shop is small, so we have to stack the denim high on the shelves. Sometimes you need a ladder just to get a specific size down for someone. It gets dusty because of all the traffic outside. We’ve been here for quite some time now. We know the other shopkeepers around here. It’s a tight-knit little community. We don’t do any big promotions or anything like that. People usually just drop in while they are on their way to or from the train. The mornings are usually spent cleaning up and getting the displays right. In the evening, it gets really crowded and loud. We try to help everyone who walks in, but sometimes it’s just one or two of us working. It’s a basic retail life. We keep things simple and honest. If a pair of jeans doesn’t fit, we tell the customer. That’s just how we operate. It's a busy, noisy, but good place to be. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but we’re still here doing our thing at the station.
