Richa International

Richa International is tucked away on the second floor of Krishna Bhuvan at 75 Kazi Sayed Street. If you know Masjid Bunder, you know how hectic it gets around here. The street is always full of handcarts and people carrying big sacks of goods. We’ve been in this building for a long time. The stairs are narrow and a bit steep, so we try not to go up and down more than we have to. Inside, it’s mostly just us and a lot of ledgers and sample folders. We deal with trading, mostly fabrics and some other items depending on the season. It’s a very traditional way of doing business. We sit around the main table, drink some chai, and talk to the traders who stop by. There is no air conditioning, just a few ceiling fans that hum all day long. We don't have a website that we use much; we prefer just talking to people directly. Kazi Sayed Street is the heart of the market, so we see everything that happens in the trade. Some days are slow and we just sit and read the paper, but other days it’s non-stop from morning till night. We don’t try to act like a big global corporation. We are just a local trading house trying to get the right price for our clients. It’s a noisy, busy life, but it’s what we’ve always done in this part of town.
