Reboot Computer Service Reengineered

The office is up on the third floor of the Gowalia Tank Building, specifically at 46/A. It’s right above the Maharaja Hotel, so the smell of food usually drifts up here around lunchtime which makes us all pretty hungry. Being on RC Dutt Road means there is always noise from the street below, but we’ve gotten used to it after all these years. We spend most of our time staring at screens or taking apart laptops that have seen better days. The space is filled with cables, old keyboards, and parts we’ve kept just in case someone needs a specific screw or a bracket. It isn’t the neatest place you’ll ever see, but we know where everything is kept. Moving heavy desktops up to the third floor can be a bit of a workout since we do it ourselves. We started Reboot Computer Service Reengineered because we liked figuring out why things stop working. It’s mostly just us sitting at the workbenches with screwdrivers and software discs. Sometimes a repair takes an hour, and other times we’re scratching our heads until the sun goes down. People drop off their machines and tell us about the coffee they spilled or the weird noises the fan is making. We listen, write it down on a notepad, and get to it when it's their turn in the pile. It’s a steady stream of work. The building itself is old, but it works for what we do and the location is good. (257 words)
