Rashmi Tailors

Rashmi Tailors is a small shop located at Shop No-5 in the Talmjala building. We are right in Ganesh Nagar, which is part of the Parel area. Parel is always crowded, and our little corner in Ganesh Nagar is no different. We’ve been stitching clothes here for quite some time now. The shop isn't very large, so we have to be careful about how we store all the fabric people bring in. We do everything from basic alterations to stitching entire outfits for people. You can usually hear the sound of the scissors cutting through cloth and the rhythmic hum of the stitching machine from the morning until we close at night. It’s a local place, so we know many of our customers by name. They stop by to drop off a dress or pick up some trousers we’ve shortened. We don’t have any polished displays or fancy lighting. It’s just a workspace with some mirrors and a cutting table. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic with piles of clothes everywhere, but we eventually get through it all. Living and working in Parel means you get used to the constant buzz of activity outside. We just keep our heads down and focus on the sewing. It’s what we know how to do, and we’ve been doing it this way for years without any complaints from the folks around Ganesh Nagar.
