Ramakant Saboo

This is Ramakant Saboo. I’ve got my setup at F-9/3 in the Hari Niketan Society. It sits right on M G Road, which is always humming with noise and people. I’ve stayed in this spot because it's easy to get to and everyone knows the landmark. It’s not a huge office, just a couple of rooms where we keep our files and take care of business. I’ve lived around here for a long time, so I know most of the shopkeepers on the street. We don't have any big signs or bright lights outside. Most people who come here already know who I am. I spend a lot of time sitting at my wooden desk, talking to whoever comes through the door. It’s a straightforward way to spend the day. Sometimes my son comes in to help me with the computer stuff because I’m not very good at it. The tea guy brings a kettle around twice a day and that's usually when we take a break. It’s a bit dusty sometimes because of the road construction nearby, but we manage. I like the fact that I can walk to most places from here. It’s a simple life running a small place like this, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. We just do our work, talk to our neighbors, and go home to our families. It is a peaceful way to live and I am happy with it.
