Rakesh General Stores

Rakesh General Stores is tucked away in Surya Nagar, which is part of Gandhi Nagar in Vikhroli West. We are pretty close to Dr Ambedkar Chowk, so we get a lot of people passing by on their way to or from work. It’s a typical local store where we stock all sorts of things that people might need at the last minute. We have milk, snacks, soap, and whatever else fills up the shelves. The shop isn't very big, so we have to stack things pretty high sometimes. It can get a bit crowded in the evenings when everyone is getting home and realizes they forgot something for dinner. We know most of the families around here since they’ve been coming to us for years. We aren't interested in being a big supermarket. We just like being the place where you can grab a cold drink or a pack of biscuits without any trouble. Sometimes the kids from the neighborhood come in after school for some sweets. It’s a noisy, friendly kind of place. We open early and stay open late because that’s when people need us. There’s always something to do, whether it’s checking the stock or cleaning the floors. We don't use any fancy systems, just a simple counter and a smile for whoever walks in. It’s a busy life but we enjoy being part of the Vikhroli community. The familiar faces make the long hours feel worth it for everyone involved.
