Rachana Fashion is located in Vile Parle West, specifically in the Pol Heights building. Being in this part of Mumbai means there is always a lot of energy around us. The shop itself is a modest space where we keep all our stock and handle the daily business of fashion. It is not a massive showroom with bright spotlights; it is more of a practical place where we can focus on the clothes and the people who come to see them. We spend a lot of time rearranging the racks and making sure everything is folded or hung up properly. The windows look out towards the street, so we see the rain and the sun change throughout the year. We have a small area in the back for storage and where we sometimes sit down to have our lunch or a quick break. The floors are a bit worn from people walking in and out, but that just shows we’ve been here a while. We don't use any fancy sales tactics or have big posters everywhere. We just let the items speak for themselves and help out if someone asks for a different size or color. It gets a bit crowded during the festive seasons, but usually, it is a steady pace of work. We know the regulars by name and we like the feeling of being a local shop that people can just drop into while they are out running errands.
