Raj Trading Company

You can find Raj Trading Company over at Nakhoda Street, right in Shop No. 59 of the Vora Building. Pydhonie is a loud, crowded part of town, but that’s just how it is around here. We’ve been operating out of this small space for quite some time. It gets pretty cramped inside with all the samples and paperwork piled up, but we know where everything is. Trading is mostly about being on the phone and keeping track of what’s coming in and what’s going out. Sometimes the traffic on the street makes it hard to hear, but we manage. We aren’t looking to be the biggest place in the city. We just want to make sure the orders are right and the people we deal with are satisfied with what they get from us. The building itself has a lot of history, and you can see it in the walls and the old flooring. Most of our neighbors have been here as long as we have, so there is a bit of a community feel despite the chaos of the market outside. We open up early, usually before the heat gets too bad, and stay until the work is finished for the day. There’s no big secret to how we do things; we just show up, talk to our suppliers, and move the goods. It’s a simple life, really, just keeping the business ticking along one day at a time without making a big fuss about it.
