Purab Arts

Purab Arts is up on the first floor of Chikhal House here in Marine Lines. The building has that old character you find in this part of town. Sometimes the lift acts up, so we just take the stairs to get things moving. It gets pretty humid in the afternoons, especially when the breeze from the sea doesn't quite reach inside the workroom. We’ve been at this address for a while now, surrounded by stacks of paper and finished pieces leaning against the walls. Usually, there's a radio playing somewhere in the back to drown out the traffic noise from the street below. We don't have fancy furniture or anything, just heavy wooden tables that have seen better days but still hold up well. Lunch usually comes from the stall around the corner, and we eat while looking over the day's tasks. The light comes in through those big windows early in the day, which helps a lot with seeing colors right. It's a busy spot, and there's always someone coming or going with a delivery or a question. We keep the doors open mostly to let the air circulate, even if it brings in some dust. It isn’t a quiet place, but it's where we get everything done. Sometimes customers get lost looking for the entrance, but once they find the stairs, they're fine. It's just a regular workspace where we spend most of our daylight hours trying to keep up with the pile of work.
