I am based at 15 Rock House on Worli Hill Road. It is a quiet enough spot considering how busy Mumbai usually is on the main roads. Living and working in Worli has its ups and downs, but the hill road is one of the better parts of the city to be in. The building, Rock House, is an older structure, and you can feel the age in the walls and the stairwells. I spend most of my time here at a small desk surrounded by books and different folders that have piled up over time. It is not really a traditional office where you have a big staff and a receptionist waiting at the front. It is more of a personal setup where I can focus on my tasks without too many distractions. Sometimes the wind from the sea comes up the hill and makes the old windows rattle a bit in their frames. I have lived in this area for a long time, so I know all the shortcuts and where to get the best snacks nearby when I need a break. Most of the people I deal with come by because they were told to by someone else I know. It is a very informal way of doing things, but it works well enough for me. My daily routine involves a lot of reading and writing. The address is easy to remember once you find the main turn. I keep things pretty simple here. There is no big sign.
