You can find us at 421 Swastik Chambers, right near Umarshi Bhappa Chowk. It’s a lively place, especially during the market hours when everyone is out. We deal in textiles, so there’s always fabric everywhere you look. Bolts of cloth are stacked up against the walls and on the tables. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes if you don't know your way around. We spend our days measuring out lengths and checking for any pulls or flaws in the threads. It’s very hands-on work. The lighting in the building isn't always the best, so we often have to take pieces of cloth over to the window to see the colors and patterns clearly. We have a lot of regular customers who come by just to see what we've got in stock for the week. We don't really do fancy catalogs or anything. You just have to come in and feel the material for yourself to know if it's right. It’s a small shop, really. Just a few of us working here. Sometimes we get a bit behind when a lot of people come in at once, but we manage to get through it. The chowk outside is always noisy with rickshaws and people talking loudly. We’ve gotten used to the noise over the years. We aren't trying to be some high-end boutique. We just sell good fabric for a fair price. It’s simple and it works for the people who shop with us.
