Pranav Vegetables

Our spot is at Ganpati Chowk in Mulund West, specifically at B-45. If you know the area, you know how lively it gets, especially during the festival seasons. We get here very early in the morning to set up the vegetables. The crates come in from the main market and we have to sort through everything to make sure it’s fresh. It’s a lot of bending and lifting. The floor gets a bit wet from the mist we spray on the leafy greens to keep them from wilting in the heat. We’ve been selling vegetables here for a long time. It’s not a supermarket; it’s just a regular stall where you can see what you are buying. People from the nearby apartments come by every day to get their groceries. We know most of them by name and know which ones like their chilies extra hot or their potatoes small. Sometimes the weather makes it hard, like when it pours rain and we have to pull the plastic sheets over everything quickly. It’s a simple life. We don't have any big goals other than selling good produce and making enough to keep things going. We talk to the other stall owners about the prices going up or the traffic on the main road. By the time we pack up at night, we are pretty tired, but it’s good to be part of the local community here in Mulund. It's just a regular day's work for us and we like it.
