Powai Super Market

Our shop is located in Diamond Apartment, Shop No 8, in the Powai area. We are near the 3rd Cross and 3rd A Main, and most people find us because we are quite close to Hiranandani Hospital. Running a supermarket means the day starts very early when the delivery trucks arrive with fresh bread and milk. We spend most of the morning stocking the shelves and making sure everything is in the right place. It’s a busy life, especially in a place like Powai where everyone is always on the move. The store isn’t massive, but we try to keep the things people need the most. You’ll often see us moving boxes around or checking the dates on the packages. It can be a bit tiring standing on your feet all day, but we get to talk to all the neighbors who come in for their daily supplies. Sometimes the kids from the nearby apartments run in for snacks, or people coming from the hospital stop by for something they forgot. We don't have a big corporate structure, it’s just us working the till and keeping the floor clean. The evening is usually the busiest time when everyone is heading home from work. It’s a lot of routine, but there is something nice about seeing the same faces every week. We just try to keep the shelves full and the lights on.
