Sumit Garments

Sumit Garments is based in the Poonawala Building, specifically shops seventeen and eighteen. We are right across from the Piramal Tower, so it’s a pretty busy area with lots of offices and traffic. We’ve been in this building for a while now. The space is used for storing and showing the clothes we have in stock. It’s a straightforward operation. We have racks lined up and boxes tucked into corners. We don't do much in the way of decoration; the clothes are the main thing you see. Usually, there are two or three of us here during the day handling whatever comes in. We talk to people who come looking for specific items and we try to help them find what they need in the right size. It isn't a high-end boutique with soft lighting. It’s a practical shop where we keep the doors open and the lights on. Sometimes the delivery guys are coming in and out with new bundles, so it can get a little messy on the floor. We just clean it up when we can. Most of our customers are locals or people working in the nearby towers who pop in during their lunch break. We don't have any big speeches about what we do. We just sell garments and keep the shop running six days a week. It’s a decent living and we like the people around here.
