We've been here at 50 Durgadevi Street for a long time now. Kumbharwada is a really busy spot, there is always some kind of metalwork going on right out in the street. Our shop handles different kinds of steel supplies for the local tradesmen. It gets pretty loud and dusty during the day, but that's just how this neighborhood works. Most of the folks around here know exactly where we are. We stack the pipes and the flat sheets in the back of the shop where there's more room. Sometimes the big trucks have a real hard time navigating these narrow streets to drop things off, but we always manage to get it done. It’s a family-run kind of setup with just a few of us. We don't have a fancy office or air conditioning, just an old wooden desk and a few chairs for when customers need to sit. People come in to pick up what they need for their construction jobs or small home repairs. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can. The inventory changes a lot depending on what comes in from the suppliers that week. If you walk past the old temple at the corner, you’ll find our door easily enough. We open up pretty early when the sun is still low. It's a lot of heavy lifting and moving stuff around all day long. My cousin handles the billing while I look after the yard. We aren't trying to be some massive corporation.
