You have to come up to the first floor at Bussa Industrial Estate to find us. We are in unit 12 B on Tokersey Jivraj Road over in Sewree West. Mumbai is always moving fast and it is the same here in the estate. The stairs are a bit steep but you get used to them. We have been in this spot for a while now, surrounded by other workshops and small businesses. It gets pretty humid inside, especially during the monsoon months when the air feels heavy. We do all our apparel work right here on the first floor. There are stacks of cloth everywhere and the hum of machines is the background noise of our lives. We know the security guards at the gate and the delivery guys who come by every afternoon. Sewree is a busy area with a lot of history, and we feel like a small part of it. We don’t have fancy signs or a big lobby. You just walk in and see us working at the tables. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just how it goes sometimes. We keep our records in big ledgers and try to stay organized amidst the chaos of fabric scraps and thread spools. It’s a practical place for people who just want to get the job done. We just keep moving one step at a time, making sure the measurements are exactly what they should be.
