The Western Express Highway is right there, so there is never really a quiet moment at our place in Parsiwada. You get used to the sound of trucks and cars zooming past. We are tucked into Andheri East, which is always a bit of a mess with traffic, especially when it rains. This building is where we handle the beverage side of things. If you walk through the halls, you might see crates or new bottle designs sitting on a table. It isn’t some slick, modern glass box; it’s a working office. People are usually on the phone or running to meetings. The humidity in Mumbai gets into everything, so the fans are always spinning. We have a small canteen area where everyone catches up on gossip over lunch. It’s mostly rice and dal every day. Working in the drinks business means we think a lot about the heat outside. When summer hits, things get really frantic here. We’ve got people who have been with the company since they were young. It makes the atmosphere feel less like a corporation and more like a neighborhood spot, even though the highway is so close. We just try to keep the coolers full and the orders moving out to the trucks. Sometimes the gate gets blocked by a delivery, and everyone has to wait. That’s just life in Andheri for us.
