National Uniforms

This location of National Uniforms is in M. J. Phule Nagar, right opposite the Railway Police Quarters in Building No. 20, over in Pantnagar, Ghatkopar East. Being in Ghatkopar East means we deal with a lot of local foot traffic and the general hum of the city. Our daily life revolves around the rhythm of the sewing needles and the steam from the heavy irons. It’s always a bit warm inside because of the pressing machines, but we keep the windows open as much as we can. We have stacks of fabric everywhere you look, mostly for schools and different jobs that require a specific look. It’s not a glamorous setup; the floor is usually covered in thread scraps and bits of cloth. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy signs. Most people find us because they live nearby or they’ve seen the police quarters and know the building. We start early in the morning before the heat gets too bad and we try to get as much done as possible before the afternoon slump hits. The local tea stall is our main source of energy. Sometimes we get orders that are a bit of a rush, and then everyone has to work a bit faster, but usually, it's just a steady pace. We like being in Pantnagar because it feels like a real community where everyone is just trying to get through their workday.
