Palghar Marine

If you head down to the waterfront at 112 Mallet Bunder, you will find us. Palghar Marine is right there near Chamar Godi and the Ferry Wharf. It is a very busy part of town, always smelling like the sea and old fish, which you just get used to after a while. There are always trucks backing in and boats coming into the wharf, so there is a lot of shouting and heavy lifting going on all day. Our building is pretty old and the paint is peeling in a few places because of the salt air, but it’s sturdy enough for what we do. We don’t have much in the way of a fancy lobby or anything like that. Mostly, it is just a big space where we handle marine supplies and whatever else comes through. It’s a tough environment, and we all wear boots because the floor is usually wet. Working at Mallet Bunder means you have to be ready for anything, especially when the weather turns bad and the waves start hitting the quay. We’ve been at 112 for years and seen plenty of people come and go. It is an honest living, even if it’s a bit dirty and loud. We just show up, do the heavy lifting, and try to keep things moving as fast as the boats come in. It’s just how life is down here at the wharf.
