Padmavati Exports

We are based in the Bharat Diamond Bourse in BKC. If you’ve ever been to the bourse, you know how huge it is. Padmavati Exports is at Plot No. Ec- 2040. It’s a lot of security and glass buildings around here, which is a bit different from where I grew up. We spend our days looking at stones and talking to people on the phone. It’s quiet work, mostly. We’ve been in the diamond trade for a long time, but we kept it small. It’s just easier to manage that way. My cousins work with me sometimes, and we sit in the office with our tea and the ledgers. Bandra East has changed so much since we started. It used to feel far away, but now it’s the center of everything. We don't have a big fancy website or anything like that. We just rely on the people we’ve known for twenty years. Sometimes the paperwork gets to be a bit much, but that’s just how the export business goes. We try to be honest about what we have and what we don't. It’s not a glamorous job, despite what people think about diamonds. It’s mostly just a lot of checking and re-checking. We like it here though, it’s a good community of workers and we get our work done without too much fuss.
