Our place is in Atlantic Plaza, right at No. 334. We’re in that area known as Garage Galli on Tulsi Pipe Road. If you know Dadar West, you know how busy it gets around here. Being near Tilak Bhavan is a good landmark because otherwise, people might get lost in the crowds. We work with apparel, so there are always stacks of fabric and half-finished garments lying around the room. It’s a bit of a squeeze in the workshop sometimes. The noise of the sewing machines is the background music to our day. Dadar is the heart of the city for this kind of work, so we’re right in the middle of everything. The traffic on Tulsi Pipe Road is almost always backed up, which can be annoying when we’re waiting for a delivery. We aren't a high-end fashion house or anything like that. We’re just a regular garment unit doing our thing. The walls are a bit scuffed from moving boxes around, and we don’t have any fancy displays. We usually have the radio playing to keep us going while we work. It’s a lot of repetitive tasks, like checking seams and packing bags. We’ve been in this building for quite a while now and know all the other shop owners on the floor. It’s a tight community in a very fast-paced part of town and we like it just fine.
