Oswal Grain Store

Oswal Grain Store is a small shop, number 4, in the Avanti Society. We are located in Goregaon East, right near the State Bank of India ATM, which makes it easy for people to find us when they are out doing their shopping. We spend our days surrounded by big sacks of rice, wheat, and pulses. It’s heavy work, moving those bags around and weighing out exactly what people need. The shop has a specific smell of dry grains and jute bags that I’ve grown to love over the years. We aren't a big supermarket with bright lights and fancy aisles. It’s just a counter, some scales, and a lot of stock piled up high. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty when we are pouring out the grain, but that's just how it is. We know most of our customers by face because they live right here in the society or just down the road. They come in for their monthly supplies, and we have a chat while I tie up their bags. My hands are usually a bit rough from the work, and the floor needs sweeping pretty much every hour. It’s a straightforward business, providing the basics that every kitchen needs. We don’t do anything flashy, just honest weight for a fair price. If the ATM is on your left, we are just a few steps away. We’re here most days from morning until late evening.
