About Shubham Mango Exporters – Agriculture & Farming in Mumbai
Opera House is always a bit of a madhouse, especially around No. 34 Panchratana where we are. Dealing with mangoes from an office in the middle of Mumbai might seem strange to some people, but it’s where we do all the coordinating for Shubham Mango Exporters. During the season, the phones don’t stop ringing and there’s a lot of shouting back and forth about crate counts and shipping schedules. It’s cramped in here with all the paperwork and the boxes piled up near the door. You can usually smell the fruit even before you step inside the room. We don't have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. It's just a couple of desks, a few chairs that have seen better days, and a lot of maps on the wall. The lift in the building is slow, so we end up taking the stairs more often than we’d like. Outside, the street noise is constant, but you get used to it after a week. We spend most of our time making sure the mangoes get where they need to go without getting bruised or sitting in the heat too long. Sometimes a shipment gets delayed at the docks and then everyone is stressed out, drinking way too much coffee. It's a lot of hard work during the peak months, then it gets quiet. We just do what needs to be done every day.
