Geet Trading

We’ve been operating out of Princess Street for quite some time now. Our place is in the Gold Mohur building, specifically at 11/1. It’s a busy area, as most people who know Mumbai’s trade districts can tell you. The street is always full of people moving boxes and trucks trying to navigate the narrow spaces. Inside our office, it’s pretty straightforward. We have desks, some files, and we spend most of the day on the phone or talking to people who drop by. It’s not a fancy setup. We deal with trading various items and keeping track of what’s coming in and going out. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, but we just carry on. The neighbors are mostly other traders who have been here as long as we have. We know the tea seller around the corner and the guys who help with the loading. It’s a lot of work, and some days are slower than others. We don’t really do much advertising. People usually find us through word of mouth or because they were already in the building for something else. We just try to keep things moving and make sure the paperwork is mostly right. There’s always noise from the street, but you get used to it after a week. It’s just how things are here at Princess Street. We’ve got a lot of boxes stacked up against the back wall right now that need to go out soon.
