Basudev Agency is located at 75, Krishna Bhavan on Kazi Syed Street in the Masjid Bunder area. This part of Mumbai is always packed with people and handcarts, and our building is no different. It’s an old structure, and we’re squeezed in among many other traders and agents. Getting up to the office can be a bit of a squeeze when the hallways are full of goods. Inside, it’s mostly just shelves full of files and a few heavy wooden desks where we do our bookkeeping. We handle a lot of the trading and agency work that keeps the local markets supplied. It’s noisy and crowded, but there’s a certain rhythm to it that we like. We don't have a website with fancy photos or a big sales team. Most of our business comes from people we’ve known for decades in the market. We sit here, drink our tea, and talk to the people who walk through the door. Some days are slow and others are frantic, especially when the shipments arrive at the docks nearby. We just try to keep things organized and make sure our clients get what they need without a lot of hassle. It’s just how business is done in this part of the city. We've been here for years and we don't plan on moving anywhere else anytime soon.
