We are based out of Malad. It’s a big area, but we’ve tucked ourselves into a small spot that works for what we do. Dealing with export and import means we spend a lot of time looking at spreadsheets and waiting for phone calls to go through. It isn't a glamorous job. Our office is filled with files and old ledgers that we probably should have archived years ago. There is a small kettle in the corner for making coffee because the days can get pretty long when you’re dealing with different time zones. We don’t have a big sign outside or anything to attract attention. Most of our business comes from people we’ve known for years. The windows stay shut mostly because of the dust from the road outside. Sometimes the internet acts up and we all have to sit around waiting for it to come back so we can send our emails. It’s just the three of us here most days. We wear casual clothes because there’s no point in dressing up when it’s just us and the paperwork. We’ve thought about moving to a bigger place closer to the city center, but the rent here is manageable and we know the tea stall guy around the corner. It’s a simple life, really. We just make sure the containers and the paperwork match up so the goods get from one place to another without too much trouble.
