Only Onyxx

Only Onyxx is right on the service road of the Western Express Highway, right across from the domestic airport in Vile Parle East. If you know the area, you know how loud it gets with the planes taking off and the constant stream of traffic on the highway. It’s a busy, dusty part of Mumbai, but it’s home for us. We handle a lot of heavy material here, so the floor is always a bit marked up and there’s usually a thin layer of dust on everything no matter how much we clean. The location is handy for people passing by, but the noise can be a lot to handle some afternoons. We don't have a big corporate team; it’s just a handful of us who know the trade. Most of our day is spent talking to people who drop in or managing the inventory we have squeezed into the back. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, especially with the sun hitting the front of the building. We usually have the radio on to drown out the highway sounds a bit. It’s not the quietest place to work, but we like being in the middle of all the action. We don't put on any airs about what we do. It’s just honest work in a very busy part of town. Most of us have worked here for years and we're used to the noise.
