About Nilesh Dry Fruit Stores – Food & Beverages in Mumbai
I've been sitting in this shop at the Corner View building for a good number of years now. Most days it’s just me and the bags of almonds and cashews. People from around 15th Road in Bandra West stop by when they need something for a snack or maybe a festival is coming up. The place isn't very big, Shop 4 is actually quite tight once you get all the crates in. We keep things pretty simple here. If you walk in, you'll see stacks of pistachios and walnuts. I try to keep the glass jars full. Sometimes the traffic outside on the corner gets really loud, but that's just how it is in this part of town. I remember when we first moved in, the walls needed a lot of work. Now they're covered in shelves. It’s a lot of lifting and weighing out bags on the scale. My hands usually smell like raisins or dried figs by the end of the afternoon. We don't have a fancy setup. Just a counter and the stock. Sometimes the regulars stay for a bit to talk about the weather or how much the prices of pine nuts have gone up lately. It’s just a regular local store. Nothing more than that. I open up early and stay until the sun goes down. If you're passing by the Corner View building, you'll see the sign. It’s been there for ages and it's starting to fade a little bit.
