Shop No 106 in Vasant Plaza is where you can find us, over in Malad West. It is a small shop packed with rolls of cloth and half-finished dresses. A measuring tape is always around someone's neck. Most of our time is spent cutting patterns and sewing. It is a busy place, especially during the wedding season. A big corporate team is not how we work. It is just a few of us who know how to handle a needle and thread. The shop is a bit cluttered with mannequins and pins all over the place. We have been here in Vasant Plaza for a good number of years. People stop in to get their clothes fitted or to talk about a new outfit they want made. Fancy talk is not our thing. We just listen to what people want and try to make it. Sometimes we run out of a certain color of thread and have to go hunting for it. That is just how a small shop works. It is not a high-end boutique with soft music playing. It is a place where work gets done. We have a lot of regulars who have been coming to us since we opened. Staying busy with the sewing machines is what we do. It is a good way to make a living in Malad. We stick to what we know, which is making clothes that fit right.
