Neelam Appliances

Neelam Appliances is over at G-75, Sarvodaya Nagar, on 1St Panjarapole Lane. It’s an old part of the city and the lanes are pretty thin. We sell various household items and kitchen stuff. Our shop is packed from floor to ceiling with boxes. Sometimes it’s hard to find exactly what a customer is looking for right away, but we usually know where everything is buried. We’ve been in this spot for a long time. People come here when they need something fixed or when they’re looking for a new stove or some pots. We don’t have any bright lights or big displays. It’s just shelves and more shelves. The lane outside is usually full of people walking and the occasional handcart. We spend a lot of time talking to the neighbors and the people who walk in just to see what’s new. We don’t really do any big marketing. If someone likes what they bought, they tell their cousin or their neighbor. That’s how we’ve stayed open all these years. It gets really busy during the festive seasons when everyone wants to upgrade their kitchen. Those days are long and we usually go home with sore feet. But it’s good to see the shop full. We just focus on keeping the stock replenished and making sure the items are in good condition when they leave the shop. It is a simple life and a simple business for us here.
