Needle Craft

Needle Craft is based out of No. 602 in the Linkway Apartment, over in Dr. Charat Singh Colony. Being in Chakala, Andheri East, means we are right in the middle of everything, but our actual workspace is tucked away in a residential building. It gives it a different feel than a regular shop. It’s a bit more quiet, which is nice when we need to concentrate on the small details of our work. The room we use has big windows that let in a lot of natural light, which helps since we spend so much time looking at fine threads and needles. We’ve got a couple of old wooden tables that have been scratched up over the years, but they are sturdy. Sometimes the neighbors’ kids are playing in the hallway, and you can hear them laughing or running around. It makes the place feel more like a home than a business. We don't have a big sign outside or anything like that. People usually find us through word of mouth or if they already know the colony well. We keep our supplies in plastic bins stacked against the walls. It’s not the most organized system, but we can find what we need when we need it. We drink a lot of tea throughout the day and talk about the news or what’s happening in the neighborhood. It’s a very relaxed way of working, and we wouldn't want it any other way. We just keep at it.
