Naik Oceanic Exports Pvt Ltd has been operating out of Fort 2/289 for a long time. This part of the city is always crowded, so getting things in and out can be a bit of a challenge. We mostly deal with seafood and export stuff to different places. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone calls throughout the day. My uncle started this and now a few of us carry it on. The office isn't very modern; it’s got old desks and stacks of files that we really should sort through. We spend a lot of time checking on shipments and talking to suppliers down at the docks. Some days are very slow, just waiting for news on a container. Other days, everyone is shouting and trying to get things moved on time. We don't have a big fancy lobby. If you come by, you’ll probably just see us drinking tea and looking at spreadsheets. It’s a noisy area with all the traffic outside, but we’re used to it. The walls are a bit peeling and the AC makes a loud humming noise. We focus on getting the fish where it needs to go without too much fuss. It’s a tough business because things can go wrong with the cold storage or the shipping lines. We just take it one day at a time and try to keep our clients satisfied. It’s what we know how to do. We don't plan on moving anytime soon.
