You can find us at 172-A, Samuel Street No. 7, inside Sakti Chamber. This is the Masjid (W) area, so it is always crowded and full of life. Mohammed Umer Abdullabhai & Sons has been a family name for a long time now. My father and his father before him were part of this. It’s a bit cramped in here sometimes because of all the stock and the old ledgers we keep. The street outside is narrow, and you have to be careful not to get run over by a handcart. We handle various goods, mostly things people need for their shops or homes. It’s not a corporate building with glass walls; it is an old-school chamber where deals are made with a handshake. We know almost everyone on the street by their first name. Sometimes the electricity flickers, but we just keep working. We don't spend money on fancy decorations because the work speaks for itself. People come to us because they know we’ve been here for decades and we aren't going anywhere. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting things and checking invoices by hand. We like it this way. It feels real. If you visit, you might have to squeeze past a few boxes to get to the desk, but we will always have time to talk about what you need. That is just how we do things here. We just try to be helpful and keep the family name going.
