Mikir Fashions

Mikir Fashions is tucked away in unit number 11 of the Ashish Industrial Estate. We’re located on Gokhale Road South in Dadar West. Dadar is always a chaotic place to be, but it’s right in the heart of the city, which makes things easier in some ways. Our space is pretty cramped because we have so much stuff packed in there. Between the fabric rolls and the finished boxes, there isn't much room to walk around. We’ve been at this for several years now. We don't have a fancy website or a social media person. We just focus on the garments. Every morning, we open the shutters and get the fans going because it gets quite stuffy in the estate. We know the other business owners nearby, and we often help each other out when someone is short on supplies or needs a hand with something. It’s a very traditional way of working. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just make clothes. Some days are better than others, especially when the machines decide to behave themselves. We deal with the usual problems like late deliveries or missing buttons. It’s just the reality of the garment trade in Mumbai. We stay busy and we try to do right by the people we work with. It’s a simple life in a very busy part of town, and we wouldn't know what else to do.
