Mercantile Enterprises

You can find us at Shop No. B/8 in the "Shiv Krupa" building on Old Nagardas Road. Being in Andheri East means things are always moving fast around here. Our shop isn't very large, but we pack it full of whatever we are trading at the time. Mercantile Enterprises has been operating from this little corner for a while. We spend a lot of our mornings unloading boxes and checking the inventory lists to see what’s running low. The traffic on Old Nagardas Road can be a real headache sometimes, especially when the delivery trucks are trying to park nearby. Inside the shop, it’s mostly just us keeping track of sales and talking to the regulars who have been coming to us for years. We don’t use any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of it is still done with notebooks and pens. It feels more reliable that way. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy to worry about that. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, so we just sit by the door and wait for it to come back on. It’s a simple life running a business in Mumbai. We handle all sorts of general goods, and we try to keep things straightforward for everyone who walks through the door. No one here wears a suit. We just wear what’s comfortable for moving crates and sitting at the desk. That's just our way.
