Meet Akachi Apparels Private Limited

Meet Akachi Apparels is based out of room 225 in the Panchratna building. If you know the Opera House area in Mumbai, you know how crowded it gets. We are tucked right behind Roxy Cinema. It’s a classic old building with a lot of history and a lot of stairs. We spend our days surrounded by patterns and stacks of apparel. It’s loud outside with all the cars and people, but inside the office, we just focus on the garments. We didn’t start with much, just a few machines and a desire to make clothes that people actually want to wear. Dealing with the logistics in this part of town is a challenge every single day. Getting deliveries in and out through those narrow lanes takes a lot of patience. We have some regular people who have worked with us for years now. They know the routine. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It's mostly just word of mouth and people seeing what we do. The space is a bit cramped because we have so much stock sometimes, but it’s our space. We like being near the cinema because there’s always life around. Every morning starts with a quick cleanup and then we get straight to the cutting and sewing. It's just a regular local business trying to do things the right way without making a big fuss about it. We stay busy and we stay thankful for the work we have.
