Universal Apparel Exports

Universal Apparel Exports operates out of Court Chambers on New Marine Lines in Mumbai. Being in South Mumbai, the building has that old, solid feel to it, and the stairwells are always a bit dim. Our office is on the fourth floor. It is a busy place because there is always some paperwork to finish or some samples to check before they get shipped out. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at spreadsheets. Outside the window, you can hear the city moving, which is basically a constant hum of traffic and people. The room is usually filled with boxes waiting to be taped up and moved. It’s not the kind of place with fancy furniture; we just use what works and has been here for years. The lift in the building can be a bit slow, so we often end up taking the stairs if we are in a hurry. We have a small team here, and everyone knows their job, so we don't have to talk too much about what needs doing next. It gets quite humid in the monsoon, and the walls sometimes get those damp patches, but we just keep going. It is a typical Mumbai workspace where every inch of floor is used for something. We are just one of many offices in this big old building trying to get through the day's tasks.
