You can find Pohoomals Exports over at Court Chambers, 35 New Marine Lines. We are right behind the Income Tax Office, so the area is always full of people and cars. It’s a classic Mumbai location. Our office is in one of those older buildings that has high ceilings and a lot of character. We’ve been doing export work for quite a long time. The space is filled with the smell of old paper and the sound of keyboards clicking. We deal with a lot of different products that head out to other countries. Most of our day is spent looking at shipping documents and talking to customs agents. It’s a lot of logistics. The desks are crowded with folders and stamps. We don’t have a fancy reception area. You just walk in and see everyone working. We’ve got a view of the street, so we can see the hustle of Marine Lines while we work. It’s a busy place, and we have to stay on top of the schedules so nothing gets stuck at the port. Sometimes it gets stressful when a shipment is delayed, but we just handle it one step at a time. We’ve got a small pantry where we make tea, which helps when the afternoons get long. It’s an honest, hard-working environment. We aren't trying to impress anyone with the decor; we just want to make sure the boxes get where they are going.
