You can find us down on Javji Dadaji Marg at Grant Road in Mumbai. We’re located in Telwadi Chawl, specifically on the ground floor at Plot 183C. If you’ve ever been to this part of Mumbai, you know it’s a maze of old buildings and narrow lanes where everyone knows everyone else. Our shop is right there on the ground floor, which makes it easy for people to poke their heads in. It’s an old-school chawl setup, so the space is a bit tight and the ceilings are high. We have our cutting tables and sewing machines squeezed in wherever they fit. It gets quite loud with the street noise right outside the door, but we’re used to the sounds of the city by now. There’s always someone passing by or a delivery bike trying to navigate the lane. We don’t have much in the way of decoration; the walls are just covered with measurement charts and scraps of cloth. The lighting isn't the best, but we know our way around the workspace. It’s a real community vibe here; we chat with the neighbors while we work. We’ve been tailoring for a long time, and being in Grant Road keeps us close to where all the action is. It’s a busy, dusty, and lively place to spend the day making clothes for people across the city.
