Manhar Cloth Centre

Our shop is located at Shop No 3 in Qureshi Court, which is right opposite the Mahim Railway Station. Being so close to the station means there is always noise from the trains and people rushing by, but we have gotten used to it over the years. We sell different kinds of cloth and fabrics for whatever people need to get stitched. It is a small space, so we have to make the most of the shelves we have. We keep things stacked pretty high. Sometimes it’s hard to see everything at once, but we know where everything is kept. MMC R is a busy road and the traffic can be a lot during peak hours. We have been here in Mahim for a while and have seen the area change quite a bit. The shop is simple, nothing too polished or modern about it. We just open up in the morning, sweep the floor, and wait for the regulars to come in. Most of our day is spent unfolding fabric and measuring it out for customers. It is manual work and it keeps us busy. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just the physical shop where you can come and touch the material yourself. It is easier to see the quality that way instead of looking at pictures. We are just a local cloth centre trying to make a living in this part of town.
