Mandakini Fashions

If you walk down Naigaum Cross Road, you will find us at number 126. Mandakini Fashions has been in this neighborhood for a while, right in the middle of all the daily chaos. The shop is usually crowded with rolls of cloth and half-finished outfits hanging from the racks. We don't have those fancy window displays you see in the malls. Instead, we just have piles of fabric that we work through every day. The sewing machines make a lot of noise in the back room, and there is always someone threading a needle or measuring out a length of silk. We take on all sorts of work, mostly things people need for weddings or local festivals. It gets very busy during the holiday seasons and we end up working until late at night just to keep up. The floors are always covered in little scraps of thread and cloth by the time we close up. We aren't looking to change much about how we do things. My family has been doing this kind of work for years, and we just like being part of the local market here. People stop by just to chat sometimes even if they aren't buying anything. It is a simple life and the work is steady. We just try to make sure every piece that leaves the shop is done properly so people keep coming back for more clothes later on.
