Lower Parel has changed a lot over the years, but Sunmill Compound still feels like the heart of the garment trade. We are located in the B Wing of Todi Estate, right on the first floor. Malhar Fashions has its roots in this busy district. The building itself is one of those old industrial structures with high ceilings and sturdy walls. It stays relatively cool even when it’s hot outside, which is a blessing. Our daily life involves a lot of coordination. Being in the Sunmill Compound area means we are surrounded by designers, printers, and other fashion folks. There is always someone to talk to about the latest fabric prices or logistics. We don't have a glossy reception area. You walk straight into the workspace where the action is. There are racks of clothes waiting to be checked and desks covered in invoices. We focus on the practical side of the fashion business, making sure the logistics and the production stay on track. The staff here has been with us for a while, so we function like a well-worn machine. We have our tea breaks together and discuss what needs to be shipped out by the weekend. It’s a busy environment, especially during the festive seasons when everyone wants their orders yesterday. We just take it one day at a time, making sure we don't lose track of the details in the middle of all the chaos.
