Chetna Creations

Chetna Creations is based in the Daruwala Compound over in Malad West, right off SV Road. If you know the area, you know it’s always crowded and full of activity. We’ve been in this compound for a while. It’s an old building, but it works for what we do. We mostly work on fabrics and stitching here. There are sewing machines humming throughout the day. We have heaps of cloth stacked up in the corners and on the shelves. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the patterns and cutting tables scattered around. Our staff has been here for years. They know the rhythm of the place. We don't do much advertising; people just know where to find us in the compound. Malad is a busy spot for this kind of work. Sometimes the rain makes the roof leak a bit, but we just move the tables and keep going. It’s a humble setup. We focus on getting the measurements right and making sure the seams don't come apart. There’s no big corporate vibe here. Just a bunch of people working with thread and needles. We have tea together in the afternoons when the work slows down for a minute. It’s a local business through and through, and we try to keep it that way while we work through our daily orders.
