We are tucked away in Shop Number 10 on the first floor of a building in Chippi Chawl. If you know Kalbadevi, you know how narrow and crowded Shamsheth Street can get. It is a real maze sometimes for people who aren't from around here. We’ve been operating from this spot for quite a while. The building is old and has a lot of character, with narrow stairs that keep us on our toes. Downstairs, the street is always humming with noise—carts, people shouting, and the general rush of the market. Up here in our shop, it is a bit quieter but still very busy. We deal with various items and handle the marketing side of things. Our desks are usually piled high with papers and samples. It’s a tight space, so we have to be smart about where we put everything. We share the floor with a few other businesses, so there is always someone passing by in the hallway. We have a small window that looks out onto the street, and watching the chaos down there is how we spend our tea breaks. It’s not a fancy corporate office, just a workspace where we get things done. Most of our day is spent on the phone or talking to traders who manage to find their way up the stairs. It’s a traditional way of doing business in a very old part of the city. We’ve been here for years and we like the rhythm of it.
