Mahatma Silk Mills

You can find us at the Mittal Industrial Estate in JB Nagar. We are in the Sanjay Building, specifically unit 5 B at number 135. It’s an industrial area, so there are a lot of trucks and noise throughout the day. Mahatma Silk Mills has been operating out of this space for quite a while. We do a lot of the heavy lifting here. It’s where the silk gets processed and handled before it goes out to the stores. The machines can be quite loud when they're all running at once. We have a small crew of workers who really know their stuff. Most of them have been with us for years. It’s not a clean, white-wall kind of place. There is lint and thread everywhere, but that’s how a mill looks. We focus on getting the orders out on time. Sometimes the power goes out in the estate and we have to wait around for it to come back. We just use that time to grab a snack or talk about the local cricket scores. It’s a practical environment. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. If you come by, you’ll probably find us on the floor working with the fabric. We handle everything from the raw material to the finished rolls. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until late evening. Sometimes we stay even later if there is a big shipment due.
