Mahajani Exports

Being up on the 4th floor here at Princess Co Hsg Soc means a lot of stairs if the lift is acting up, which happens more than I’d like. Mahajani Exports is tucked away near the Standard Chartered Bank on Princess Street. It is a loud area with all the horns honking below, but up here it’s mostly just the sound of papers and some packing tape. We handle a lot of different things going out to various places. It isn't a huge office, just enough room for the desks and the boxes piled near the door. Sometimes we lose track of time looking at the street from the window. Working in this part of town is an experience because it’s always moving. We have been in this building for some years now. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint but we are too busy to bother with that right now. Most of our day is spent on the phone or checking lists and making sure the numbers match up. We don’t have a big sign outside, so you have to know where you’re going or ask the guard downstairs. Princess Street has everything if you look hard enough. We just try to get the orders ready before the courier comes by in the evening. It’s just how things go here at our spot in Mumbai. Every day is a bit different but the work stays the same.
