M T Exports

M T Exports operates out of a small office at number 45 in Kolsa Mohalla. If you know the area, it is right by Nakhoda Street and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Road. The whole neighborhood of Kalasipalyam is always moving, especially around Nawab Hyder Ali Road. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking lists of goods that need to go out. It gets really loud outside with all the trucks and people moving crates, so we usually have to shout a bit to be heard. Our desks are usually covered in manifests and shipping notes. We deal with all sorts of items that people need moved across borders or to different cities. It’s not a glamorous job, mostly just making sure the numbers match and the boxes are packed tight. Some days are slow and we just sit around talking about the weather or the traffic on the main road, but then a big shipment comes in and everything gets chaotic. The building is old and the stairs are a bit steep, which makes it fun when we have to carry samples up and down. We have been in this part of town for a while and know most of the other shop owners around Kolsa Mohalla. It’s a tight squeeze in the office with all the files, but it works for what we do. We just keep our heads down and handle the export business one day at a time.
