M G Fashion Pvt. Ltd. is tucked away in the Green Fields area of Mumbai, specifically at B-2/14. Living and working in Mumbai means you are always in a hurry, and our office is no different. We handle a lot of different fashion items. It is mostly just us sitting at desks or going over fabric swatches under the bright lights. The space is a bit cramped because we have a lot of samples from previous years that we haven't thrown away yet. We started this because we liked the idea of making clothes that regular people wear to work or out for dinner. We don't have a big corporate structure. It’s just me, a couple of managers, and the helpers who move the bags. Sometimes the monsoon rains make the commute to the 400093 area a total nightmare, but we still show up. We use simple machines and old-fashioned clipboards to keep track of everything. It’s not a high-tech operation. We spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers in other parts of Maharashtra. Most days involve a lot of shouting to be heard over the street noise outside. We eat lunch together at our desks most days. It’s a hectic life, but we have been doing it so long now that I wouldn't know what else to do with my time. It is what it is.
